  • Dragon Hoshi Defense Bujinkan Dojo
  • Ninjutsu is self defense for everyone. Old, young, small, or heavy, it doesn't matter. Ninjutsu adapts itself to you. This is possible because Ninjutsu is the result of almost a thousand years of combat veterans teaching others the skills needed to stay alive. Failed training and doctrine never surviving first contact with the enemy. This is not a sport or non-competitive art. We focuses on developing the student's mind and body through the natural movements of our martial art - without needing to focus on strength or speed training.
  • Teaching you is Lee Flynn, Shodan 1th (degreed black belt). Lee has studied in the art of Ninjutsu for over 20 years. Who has studied under Ed Martin,15th Dan (degreed black belt) for 5 years. Ed studied under Ninjutsu Grandmaster Dr. Masaaki Hatsumi ,the worlds foremost expert in Ninjutsu. Lee has also worked as a fugitive recovery agent, and security and a expert climber.

  • Grandmaster Dr. Masaaki Hatsumi

  • The 9 traditional schools in Bujinkan current tought by Soke/Grandmaster is Sensei Hatsumi, are:
  • Shinden Fudo Ryu Dakentaijutsu
  • Kukishinden Ryu Taijutsu Happo Hiken
  • Takagi Yoshin Ryu Jutaijutsu
  • Gyokko Ryu Kosshijutsu
  • Togakure Ryu Ninpo Happo Hiken
  • Gikan Ryu Koppojutsu
  • Koto Ryu Koppojutsu
  • Kumogakure Ryu Ninpo Happo Hiken
  • Gyokushin Ryu Ninpo Happo Hiken
  • Shinden Fudo Ryu Dakentaijutsu “The Immovable Heart School” 神伝不動流打拳体術 The founder of this Ryu was Izumo Kanja Yoshiteru (the 1-st Soke) in 12-th century. He also studied Chinese Kempo Boxing in the beginnings of his training, somehow defining the punching and kicking techniques of this Ryu. The school is specialized in both dakentaijutsu and jutaijutsu, and the martial concepts rely on the principle of nature, with a deep understanding of nature rhythms, flows and evolution. Sensei Hatsumi is the 26-th Grandmaster of this Ryu.
  • Kukishinden Ryu Taijutsu Happo Hiken “The Nine Demons School” 九鬼神伝流八法秘剣術 Originated from China (like few other ryu included in Bujinkan), it is considered to be older than Kamakura period (even if the first written materials came from that time), when the name "Kuki" was given to the Samurai Yasushimaru Takazaneu, by the emperor Go Daigo (1319 - 1339). The school was organized with all it's specialties by Izumo Kanja Yoshiteru (the same founder of Shinden Fudo Ryu). It is a complete fighting system and the techniques are organized in 2 different sets of 8 disciplines, including unarmed fighting, spear, short stuff, long stuff, naginata, and throwing projectiles techniques that were used on battlefield, also strategy, use of fire and water, invisibility and disguise techniques. Later, several branches came out from Kukishin, but only a few of them kept the ninja tradition. Sensei Hatsumi is the 28-th Grandmaster/Soke of this Ryu, and included it Bujinkan as part of the legacy transmitted from his teacher, Takamatsu Toshitsugu.
  • Takagi Yoshin Ryu Jutaijutsu “The High Tree, Raised Heart School” 高木揚心流柔体術 It was founded by a monk named Abe Unryu, who lived in the Funagata mountains, expert in shuriken jutsu, bojutsu and taijutsu; however, the name of the school comes after its first soke's name, Takagi Oriuemon Shigenobu (1625 - 1711), the one who actually systematized all the knowledge and organized them into the school basis. The history of this school is quite related to Kukishinden Ryu, when the two schools adopted techniques from each other to improve the quality and the efficacy of their methods. In this school there are different weapon techniques like bojutsu (long stuff techniques), shuriken jutsu (throwing projectiles techniques), yarijutsu (spear techniques), and taijutsu (unarmed fighting), also kodachijutsu (short sword techniques), hanbojutsu (short stuff techniques), and tantojutsu (knife techniques). The techniques from this school are based on the principle of jutaijutsu and dakentaijutsu, using suppleness rather than using force. There are forms of techniques executed by standing (tachi waza) and by seiza position (suwari waza). Nowadays, Sensei Hatsumi is the 17-th Grandmaster of Takagi.
  • Gyokko Ryu Kosshijutsu “The Jewel Tiger School” 玉虎流骨指術 The techniques of this school came from China, during the T'ang dynasty, and it was brought to Japan (prior to the 10th century) by a Chinese priest called Cho Gyokko. Though 1-st Soke was Tozawa Hakuunsai, the first person who developed it as a Ryu was Sakagami Tari Kunishuge, between 1532 and 1555. After this, the school was given to Momochi Sandayu (a very famous ninja of his time), then to Toda family. Today, the school's Grandmaster is Masaaki Hatsumi, the 28-th Soke. Gyokko Ryu comes with a complete fighting method, that combines techniques of unarmed combat (taijutsu) with all kinds of weapons (sword, spear, long stuff), and uses circular and fast movements based on the attack to the opponent's vital points, Koshijutsu Atemi Waza. Some of the basic techniques from Gyokko Ryu are studies in Bujinkan as part of the kihon waza.
  • Togakure Ryu Ninpo Happo Hiken “The Hidden Door School” 戸隠流忍法 One of the oldest schools (and a true Ninjutsu one), Togakure Ryu was founded in the Iga region by Daisuke Nishina (who later become Daisuke Togakure as the first Soke of Togakure Ryu), born in approximately 1161, into a Samurai family. Refugee in the mountains after a lost battle, Daisuke met a yamabushi warrior called Kagakure Doshi, the third soke of Hakuun Ryu (one of the original Ninjutsu systems developed from the teachings of Ikai who brought the roots of koshijutsu from China). Daisuke learned Doshi's warrior teachings, added them to his own Shugendo beliefs, and this is how the beginnings of Togakure Ryu were established. The new art was thought as a universal nature concept, and included meditation, breathing, diet, and mind training techniques, transforming the warrior into an intuitive surviving fighter. Soke Hatsumi in kamae with shuko, Togakure's secret weapon. Characterized on low, wide body positions and powerful strikes, the school is a complete fighting system including body techniques, also techniques with sword, spear, kusarigama, shuko (a secret weapon specific for this school only - a spiked iron band worn around the hand), shuriken throwing (the senban shurikens is specific to this school), or tetsubishi (a small spiked weapon spread on the ground to slow pursuers or protect doorways). This's school technical curriculum includes the 18th disciplines techniques that became representative for almost all the Ninjutsu schools. Passed on throughout the centuries, the ryu's 34th Grand Mastership was given to Hatsumi Sensei, who awards the 5th Bujinkan Dan using a Sakki test (the killer intention test) coming from Togakure Ryu techniques.
  • Gikan Ryu Koppojutsu “The Truth, Loyalty and Justice School” 義鑑流骨法術 The founder of this school (and it's first Soke) was Unryu Hangan Gikanbo, the daimyo of Kawachi province (about 1558 - 1570), a dedicated practitioner of chinese boxing and shuriken throwing. Gikan Ryu has many special punch, kick, and throwing techniques, as well as a special movement methods. Sensei Hatsumi is the 15-th Soke of Gikan Ryu.
  • Koto Ryu Koppojutsu “The Tiger Knocking Down School” 虎倒流骨法術 Koto Ryu came also from China, over Korea to Japan, by an Chinese warrior named Chan Busho. After several generations, in the XVI century, Sakagami Taro Kunishige received the school's knowledge and organized the Ryu as we know it today. Koto Ryu techniques are based on fast and directed strikes used on short distances (koppo), in order to break opponent's bones. These devastating fighting methods were transmitted within Bujinkan and teach by Sensei Hatsumi as the 18-th Grandmaster of Koto Ryu.
  • Kumogakure Ryu Ninpo Happo Hiken “Hiding in the Clouds School” 雲隠流忍法 Kumogakure ryu is complete Ninjutsu fighting system, and the 1-st Soke and the founder was Heinaizaemon Ienaga Iga, in 17th century. The fighting techniques are quite similar to those teach in Togakure Ryu, since these two schools were teach ed/learned together in the beginnings. Still, it has its own unique taijutsu methods, and teaches many leaping tactics and the use of the kamayari (hooked spear), a weapon probably used by pirates on the Japanese inland seas, specializing in field craft and espionage. Kumogakure Ryu also uses techniques with spear, sword, and yoroi (armor techniques). Sensei Hatsumi is currently the 14th Grandmaster of this Ryu, and the techniques are teach in Bujinkan organization.
  • Gyokushin Ryu Ninpo Happo Hiken “The Jeweled Heart School” 玉心流忍法 The founder of this Ryu (also its first Soke) was Sasaki Goeman Teruyoshi, who was also one of the Sokes in Gyokko Ryu. Though Gyokushin Ryu has many sutemi waza and lasso specialized techniques, it is more focused on the art and techniques of espionage, rather than the fighting methods. School was taught secretly, and it mixed with other Ninjutsu schools, until these days when Sensei Hatsumi, the 21st GrandMaster pf this school, included this school in Bujinkan study system.
